Healthy eating is always one of the top New Year's resolutions each year. While this goal is obtainable, it takes some time to curb the bad or unhealthy eating habits completely. Simply breaking this goal down into smaller, more manageable goals will help you stick to your plan for a more healthy diet. Reduce sugar intake
Cutting back or eliminating sugar from your diet is a gradual process. It does not happen overnight, and once the cutback begins, you’ll realize you can survive with less and less! Start by using natural sweeteners that have fewer calories than sugar. You can also use things like honey or agave to sweeten teas and desserts that are heavy in sugar.
Alcohol intake adds empty calories to your diet. It is okay to have a drink with dinner every once in a while but try to stay away from drinks that are heavy in carbs, like beer, or drinks that are super sweet, like mixed drinks. Try drinking a glass of red wine with dinner to cut back on the extra calories.

Eat out less
It is much easier to eat out when you are busy, but when you eat out, you have less control over what you’re putting into your body. When you eat out you tend to eat things that are extra fatty and contain more salt and sugar. Creating a weekly meal plan and going to the grocery store on a consistent basis will help cut down on your trips to local restaurants.
Remember, making temporary changes to your eating habits does not lead to permanent results. Changing your eating habits will take time, and just quitting cold turkey can lead to an eventual breakdown and regression back to old habits.
